What type of advice do you provide?
Coventry CAB provides both generalist and specialist advice services. All advice is free, confidential, impartial and independent. If we are unable to provide advice in a particular subject area, we will endeavour to refer you to a quality provider who can.
When are you open?
Please refer to our opening times page here.
Where are you?
Our address is Kirby House, Little Park Street, Coventry, CV1 2JZ.
Our building is located within 100 metres either side of Coventry Council Houses and Little Park Street Police Station and is opposite the Law Courts. A map of our location is located here.
If you need to find the location of one of the other Outreach Services, please refer to our Opening Times & Services page. Details and location maps of all services are listed.
Can I make an appointment?
Coventry CAB do not offer appointments on an initial basis. You are required to attend during our opening hours via our Reception & Information Service initially, where you will be given some advice. If we are unable to resolve all your advice needs during this first 'gateway assessment' interview, we will usually provide you with an appointment to see a dedicated caseworker at a later date.
I work during the week, can I make an appointment?
Coventry CAB currently provides advice during our 'open door service', Monday to Friday for upto 20 people each day.
I attended during your opening hours but you were closed. How can I get some advice?
The bureau is open until 4.00pm each day. If you attended but were unable to see and adviser then we apologise for this, however you will need to attend during the open door service on the next working day.
Do I need to bring anything?
Generally we ask that you bring evidence of who you are (unless you wish to remain anonymous), any paperwork relating to your advice requirements, evidence of any income you are receiving and any contact details you can give us.
Can I get some advice online?
Coventry Citizens Advice Bureau are in the process of developing an online advice service, however this is not yet up and running. In the meantime you may wish to access some general advice on a range of subjects from the Citizens Advice Bureau's Adviceguide website, or via the Advice Services Coventry website for details of advice providers in the Coventry area.
Go to www.adviceguide.org.uk for more information.
Is there anywhere else I can get advice?
There are a number of alternative advice providers available who can give you advice on a range of subjects including debts, benefits, employment and immigration. Take a look at our Other Advice Providers page to see if there is an advice provider to suit your advice needs.
