Coventry Citizens Advice Bureau was established in 1939 and serves a population of over 300,000 at its various sites. During a 12 month period, we deal with over 20,000 enquiries ranging from basic consumer enquiries through to the more complex areas of debt and welfare benefits.
Our main funder is Coventry City Council. We also receive funding from the government's Financial Inclusion Fund which was established specifically to provide face to face debt advice. We also have Outreach Projects run specifically for residents of the Hillfields, Canley and Tile Hill area of the City funded by Neighbourhood Renewal, and we hold Contracts in Debt and Welfare Benefits (Specialist Help Level), funded by the Legal Services Commission. Our main City Centre operation is based at Coventry Point and is staffed by both caseworkers and volunteers.
We provide information on Debt, Benefits, Housing, Family, Employment, Public Law and many other general areas of advice.
