Volunteers

Volunteering at Coventry CAB

Coventry Citizens Advice Bureau is always looking for new volunteers for a variety of roles; we have volunteers who are generalist advisers, who work as information assistants and reception assistants and others who help with administration tasks. The descriptions below set out what is involved in each role.

Generalist Advisers

Advisers see clients with problems across a wide range of enquiry areas including debt and benefits, employment, housing, family and personal matters and consumer problems.  The training initially takes about 3 months before volunteers are ready to advise independently and up to a year is needed in order to obtain the full Certificate in Generalist Advice.  Coventry CAB asks for a commitment of 12 hours per week for this role, spaced over 2 days.
